CONGRATULATIONS to Yulianna Beziazychna, who won 1st prize, audience prize, and prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned new work at the Concourse International, "Genéve Musicale", in Geneva, Switzerland. The final round was Yulianna's first time playing as soloist with orchestra - she showed incredible artistry and poise. A very big BRAVO to Ukrainian Davidsbündler students Yulianna Beziazychna (9) and Pavlo Slipko (12) for making their wonderful debuts tonight in the Concertgebouw. What a great honor for them to share the stage with concert pianist Nino Gvetadze and members of the Concertgebouw Orchestra in this special fundraising event for the Alzheimer’s Center, Amsterdam. And a nice surprise to meet the former queen of the Netherlands, Queen Beatrix who was sitting right in the front row center! A good warm up for our Davidsbündler Feest concert on the same stage next month (June 16th).

Four lucky students recently got to spend a whole day with dutch violin soloist Rosanne Philippens at the academy. Our first full, "Day with an Artist" series, Rosanne gave one-on-one masterclasses, coached chamber music, had an "In-Depth" talk over dinner, and gave a casual concert together with the students. Thank you Rosanne for sharing your insight and wisdom!
